Nuwan Mahawattage
Nuwan Mahawattage is the Director operations and cofounder of Passion travel. He has expertise in multiple disciplines i.e. sales and marketing, wild life (flora & fauna), history, and gemology. There are many positive comments from stakeholders regarding his tremendous wealth of knowledge about Sri Lanka and its history, rich culture and customs as well as lesser known places of tourist interest that you will never read in guide books. Having 14 years’ experience in the industry he has done his services to travel and tourism industry by lecturing at National and Chauffeur guide training courses in Sri Lanka tourism development authority and conducting training workshops for many travel agencies and DMC’s. It is his belief that one should have a passion to design tours to create experiences that have lasting meaning as well as memories. It’s all about passion and honesty and hard work. All this together makes him uniquely suited to put together your journey and overcome all obstacles on the way. Nothing is out of grasp or too far outside the box, and we will take care of everything for you, from the broad strokes to the finest details.
Nilantha Ekanayake
Nilantha Ekanayake was born in Kurunegala a village surrounded by beautiful mountains. It takes a special character to face the challenges of organizing and leading trips to mountainous expeditions, and Nilantha certainly ticked all the boxes in adventure travel. After completing his studies in travel and tourism he knew it was time to come home and felt a deep sense of duty and pride to show off Sri Lanka and what she had to offer for adventure seekers. He credits his desire for adventure and travel to child hood dream of exploration of the great outdoors from a very young age. Currently Nilantha is heading our adventure team. Our expert guides who are veterans in the world of adventure travel will take you on journeys to discover new places, partake in new experiences, and challenge yourself, with attentive regard for your health and wellness throughout your journey.
Sampath Kariyawasam
Sampath Kariyawasam is an award-winning cyclist and a well-known track designer in Sri Lanka. To Sampath, organizing and conducting a cycling tour is not just another job but a hobby and a passion. He will make sure your safety or excitement is not compromised at any tour weather you cycle through the mountains of kandy or the jungles of the rural Sri Lanka. From mountain bike to road, day tours to extended tours, relaxing to challenging, we’ve got a bike tour for everyone and we’ll help you find yours. We will tailor-made tours to suit your level of riding. Sampath with his team of cycling guides who provide end to end solutions bicycles, medics, Lead riders, back up vehicles loaded with food, extra bicycles and other support services. With his exceptional knowledge of hidden rural roads, He will take you to a different level of experience. You will see Sri Lanka like only very few have, what has not even been seen by most Sri Lankans.
Nadeeka Corsten
Sri Lankan born and raised, Nadeeka Corsten has a keen sense of her motherland’s heritage and a love for her roots. She blends this with a sense of belonging on the American and European continents as well as Asia. In Houston, Texas, she spent eight years after completing her degree in Business and Administration and now, settled in her home in Munich, Germany, where, as an entrepreneur, she marketed Sri Lankan Tea with pride. Being a way from her native country only made her appreciate the beauty and serenity of her culture & background.
Agathe Kissel
Agathe Kissel is of French origin. She is heading the Canadian operation of Passion travel and responsible for advertising and marketing and relationship management in French speaking nations. Agathe says “The emotions and experiences I felt during my stay in Sri Lanka are still as strong as ever Sri Lanka offers a rich variety of experiences, and we have access to all of them”. She is concerned about social justice and women’s rights and shares Passion Travel’s concern to promote local products, as well as empowering Sri Lanka women. Being a mother of a 7-year-old boy, Agathe understands needs of family travel are different and wants to offer families visiting her adoptive country (Sri Lanka) an easy and enjoyable travel experience.
